Course Philosophy
This Hands-on Manual Therapy Course is targeted for both physiotherapy students and clinicians that discusses all new trends in muscular imbalances and articular dysfunctions. It will enable a therapist to identify various musculoskeletal dysfunction of the body and will equip them with varying treatmen
ts to correct these dysfunctions. Special emphasis is given on Tensegrity model,Clinical reasoning and Evidence Based Practice.
This course will facilitate the therapist you to:

- Read client's postural and movement patterns with greater accuracy and integration.
- Gain access to effective treatment strategies for resolving postural distortions, which may occur some distance from the site of pain or limitation.
- Enable clinician to make distinct changes in client's structure within a short span of time.
Introduction: 2 Hrs
Hand posture and skills, Contact points of manipulators hand, Flicking Techniques ( Triceps flick, Double triceps flick, Wrist flick), Thrusts(Pectoralis thrust, Shoulder arm pull thrust, Body drop), Concept of somatic dysfunction, Rhythmic Techniques( articulation and springing, Low velocity stress techniques, Modifying factors in techniques.
Muscle Energy Techniques (Basic Fundamentals): 03 Hrs
Introduction to MET. Definitions of MET. Mechanism. Patterns of function and dysfunction (Vladimir Janda concept of postural and Phasic muscles). Methods of using MET. Sequence of assessment and treatment of Muscular dysfunctions. MET and joint treatments.
Muscle Energy Techniques( Application for the treatment of Muscles): 08Hrs
MET for Gastrocnemius,Soleus,Rectus femoris, Hamstrings,Ilio-psoas, Quadratus Lumborum,Piriformis, Tensor fascia lata,Latissimus Dorsi,Pectoralis Minor, Pectoralis Major, Supraspinatus, Infraspinatus,Sternocleidomastoid, Levator Scapulae,Sub-occipitals.
Muscle Energy Techniques( Application for the treatment of Joint Dysfunctions): 03Hrs
MET for Pelvic Complex dysfunctions, Lumbar region, Thoracic Region and Cervical Region dysfunctions. MET for the Shoulder complex and Knee Joint dysfunctions.
